This delicious meatloaf recipe was given to me by my lovely Dad who was given it from his sister. It has quickly become a favourite in our family and an absolute winner as a midweek go-to meal. Serve it with mashed potatoes and steamed seasonal veggies.

  • 500 gm minced steak
  • 250 gm sausage mince
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 2 carrots
  • 2 sticks celery
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoons tomato sauce
  • 2 teaspoons dijon mustard
  • ½ cup bread crumbs

1 cup water

  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 4 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 5 tablespoons brown sugar
  1. Preheat oven to 175 degrees
  2. Spray a deep 23 cm x 13 cm loaf tin with oil
  3. Place all glaze ingredients into a saucepan and bring to the boil.  Remove from heat.
  4. Mix all the ingredients together for the meatloaf in a large bowl then place into the loaf tin.
  5. Cook for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and turn into an ovenproof pan and brush with glaze reserving ½ cup for the sauce when serving.
  6. Return to the oven and cook for a further hour. Reheat glaze and use the remaining liquid for the sauce/gravy.
